Being single today is hard, even if you're considered "pretty". Being single over 45 (I'm 48) is even harder. At this age I know more of what I don't want than what I do. I know more of what I need than what I don't. I know more of what I can tolerate than what I can't or refuse to tolerate.
One of the biggest signs you're getting older is when you catch yourself saying often, "What is happening to society today? What hapoened to ..." then fill in the blank. Well, whatever happened to respect, kindness, decency, and 'courting'? Yes, I said an old word ...courting.
I'm not really old-fashioned, nor am I narrow-minded. But, when does being a cheap piece of shit become the norm? Do those methods really work? Are women so low-minded in today's society they allow themselves to be treated as objects, cheap pieces of meat, bitches-n-ho's, and flavor-of-the-week-bae's?
I want to scream, "I'm not that easy. I'm not a piece of meat you can go to the grocery store and buy prepackaged. I'm wild, and I run really well, and my senses are sharp. Only the best tracker and skilled hunter will be able to even know I'm around, much less catch me. If you want simple and easy, you're in the wrong place."
I am currently not married, therefore I'm single. But, it appears that having the label 'single' is an invitation to every perverted, desperate-deginerate on the planet. I say planet because inappropriate messages, comments, and unsolicited pics and requests come from all over the world. So, its not just an American Asshole issue.
I'm a nice person. Any of you who have read my blog or posts for any length of time knows that I'm a very open, honest, and kind person. I fill my life with purpose, positive habits, and hobbies, and spend most of my time looking for the bright side, the hope side, and the victorious side of things. Most of all, I'm respectful. However, there seems to be another underlying cue to men that being nice, or saying a kind or encouraging word, or liking a meme or quote is a signal for flirting and open season on all the bullshit listed above.
I post a selfie every morning. That's another story, a long battle, and something Ive blogged about before. My selfies are for ME. They are not an advertisement to solicit 'other' kind of pictures for a viewing audience. Yet, I get asked regularly. Does that really work? Is the porn industry so hard that men seek their porn for free. Do women not value themselves enough not to be some perverts' flavor of the minute? You know damned well they are asking EVERY woman they message for their pics too ...you're just another set of titties. Before I get bombarded with comments ...I don't think there's anything wrong with a couple to share pics with one another. I believe it's a wonderful tool to keep things spicy in a beautiful relationship. But when a man doesn't even know my name asks me for a 'sexy pic', I literally get disgusted. I have resting-bitch-face. You should see my expression when that happens. Believe me, no one will mistake my thoughts or feelings on the matter. Most often though, besides being disgusted, I'm disappointed. I'm saddened and now regard that man as having a mental handicap, regardless of his education or success.
I don't want to be disappointed or ashamed of men. I love men. I know so many great men. I know real life gentlemen, true heroes, great fathers, wonderful brothers, and spectacular sons. I love and admire their capabilities, their strengths, and their physique. I want to be proud of every one of them, so it hurts to see some of them fall so low over something so fucking stupid.
...and the women. I cry! I cry almost daily when I see the state of women. I am a feminist and have fought for the rights and dignity of women my whole life, starting with my severely abused and handicapped mother. I am a survivor, not a victim. History has not been kind to women. Most of the world is still cruel to women. But the most abusive, demeaning, and detrimental species to women are other women. The most cruel, abusive, demeaning and detrimental species to men is women. Before you women spam me with hate mail, think about it, honestly, and you'll see I'm right.
I love women. No, I'm no homosexual or bisexual, but that doesn't mean I don't respect those sexual choices. I just know what I like, and I'm attracted to warriors, often bearded badasses dripping with confidence. It's just my preference. But, I love the beauty, the nurturing kindness, the inner strength, the fighter spirit, the ability to see potential in simplicity, and the healing nature of women. I believe women are the strongest beings on this planet. We can often survive what would break the toughest of warriors. But to see a woman debase herself to accept the behavior, advances, and demeaning treatment makes me sick. And when I see a woman do the same thing to others, makes me angry. There are so many I literally want to beat the stupid out of them. Women are the neck of society. We turn the head, we connect the head to the body. The state of things lay more at the feet of women more than anything, and I want to break a few necks everytime I get a rude, suggestive, or disrespectful message.
Bottom line - everyone is responsible for their own actions regardless of influence. I'm responsible to not allow that disrespect in my life. So, if you're that way toward me and I delete, turn down, or block you - suck it up Butter Cup and try to be a better person.
It's great being single, but it also sucks. Most of all, it's most important being a good person, to have integrity, and be filled with respect for myself and others.

What is a Picture of Beauty?
I post a lot of pictures of me on my Facebook, most of them
of me smiling or just enjoying life. I’ve
been told that I’m narcissistic, that I’m just obsessed with myself. For those who think or comment in that manner shows
me they know nothing about me. If you scroll through my blog or my Facebook,
you’ll not find a picture more than five or six years old. I personally only have less than a
dozen. Why? I never took pictures of
myself because I didn’t feel I mattered.
Others didn’t take and post pictures of me either; they still don’t,
because I don’t matter to them, not even my friends today. If I’m on their
pages, it’s because I’ve tagged myself in a picture that I took, not one that
they took of me.
I started taking ‘selfies’ when I read an meme that stated, “If
you want to see what or who someone values or fears losing, look at who and what
they take pictures of.” That hit me right in the heart and deep in my
soul. It was like God whispered in my
ear to pay attention. It had me
scrolling through my pictures of beautiful outdoor scenery and activities, my
pets, my family, my food, art, simple things I found beautiful, and it was
clear to see all the things I loved, because they were right there in front of
me in brilliant color, picture, after picture, after picture. But it didn’t take long before I noticed what
was missing in all those pictures - me. Well, I made a quick excuse, “I’m taking the
pictures, so it only makes sense I’m behind the camera, not in front of
it. So, I went to my family and friend’s
pages, scrolled through their pictures, and again I could clearly see all the
things they loved and valued, but not one picture of me. Not one. It broke my heart. It still hurts. This was
about five years ago.
Before I go any further, the biggest culprit was me. My family just followed the example I set for
them. Because I have problem letting people touch me, my children never hug me,
and they tell me it feels awkward when they do.
Who the hell feels awkward hugging their mother and telling her that you
love her? I’ve hugged and kissed my
children since the day they were born, and told them I loved them as often as I
could. I still do every chance I get.
But, they forget I even exist. So,
how does that happen?
I stopped waiting for someone else to love and value me and
started to love and value myself. I see women
posting pictures every day, mostly of themselves in sexually suggestive
positions, and it makes me sad. It’s
literally about 95% of the pictures I see. That’s their idea of beauty. They are complimented my men and women alike
and told how beautiful they are, so why should they believe any different? Why should they act any different? That’s narcissism,
posing to get attention, even if the attention is low, perverted, and disgraceful. These women don’t understand that they’re not
displaying their beauty, but their ignorance, allowing themselves to be
demeaned as a woman, and viewed only as an object of perversion. The admiration they receive now will fade
once they get a little older; their bodies no longer have the same sexual draw,
and then what? What will they have to offer their admirers since their admirers
are only interested in their flesh. But,
a woman who smiles, laughs, is pictured living life, appreciating life, loving
herself and the world around her are truly visions of beauty. A woman caught in a moment of compassion, in
a nurturing embrace, being a helpmate and friend, those are images of
beauty. Beauty is not her cup size, not
in the shape of her boobs, lips, legs or ass, or in suggestive positions so
perverted assholes can fantasize fucking her.
She then becomes only an object of their perversion and no longer a
woman of beauty. Believe me; while the men appreciate the pictures, they have
no respect for her as a woman.
When I meet a man and start talking to him, if he asks me
about my body, or asks me to send him pictures of myself in a bikini etc., then
I instantly lose interest in them because it tells me they are not interested
in my true beauty. There are enough
women with low self-esteem out there eager to please their narcissistic need
for approval by ignorant assholes, but I’m not one of them. Don’t get me wrong – when I’m in a
relationship with ‘MY’ man, I love to be sexual, playful, flirty, etc., because
I can share that part of myself with that man because he already recognized my
true beauty. But if I’m not in a
relationship, don’t ask me for pictures of my body you fucking assholes! No, definitely
ask me, so that way I know who you truly are and can write you off as anyone
valuable in my life.
I post pictures of me smiling quite often because I love and
value myself. Those smiles are for me,
to remind me that I matter. This world
can’t do that for me. Someone else can’t do that for me. I have to do it for
myself. I post pictures of the people
and things that I love and value.
Someday someone else will post a picture of me, and it will truly be a
picture of beauty.
Till next time,

Think Before You PM
Instead of my typical blog post this morning, I’ve decided to make a plea. This is something that’s been bothering me for some time now, but I’ve hesitated saying anything – because I don’t want to upset, hurt, or anger anyone. There’s this other part of me on the inside screaming, “You just broke out of a box where you were told what to think, what to believe, how to dress, how to act, how to talk, and almost on a daily basis reminded to watch what you do and say because others are watching you. God forbid I should cause another to stumble.” That was a heavy burden to carry. I refuse to ever carry it again.
I will start by saying - I am responsible for what I do and say. I will one day give an account for ME. I am NOT however responsible for YOUR response, YOUR behavior, YOUR thoughts, YOUR actions, or for YOUR stumble. YOU are.
Now that that’s out of the way, let me begin.
YES, I’m single. YES, I’m a natural flirt. I flirt with everyone, men and women. I’m a witty person. Sometimes I hear or see something and a corresponding phrase will pop into my head. Sometimes that response is funny, sometimes serious, sometimes witty, sometimes stupid as hell, sometimes it’s brilliant, and sometimes a little perverted. I have no filter. Those who know me, know I ALWAYS speak my mind. That’s not to say my mind always has the appropriate or perfect answer. On the contrary – it’s usually just as messed up and jumbled as I am. However, it’s always the truth and always authentic - to me.
Having said that, being single, cute, and naturally flirtatious has led to a few complications. One of those complications – receiving very inappropriate PM’s.
I apologize if I’ve given the impression that I would enjoy receiving those types of correspondences. I don’t. Don’t get me wrong, I love when people are just as open and flirtatious as I am. By all means… flirt. But, there IS a difference between being fun and flirty and being an inappropriate pervert.
I’m not a party girl. I’m not looking for a hookup. I will NEVER be the ‘other’ woman. (BTW – tell your wives and your girlfriends they can quit messaging me too. I’m not responsible for your behavior. ) I respect relationships. If you have a girlfriend or a wife, you have NO business sending me a PM for any reason, except perhaps on writing related business. Quit sending me your phone numbers or inappropriate pictures. I will never call and am not impressed. NO, I will not send you a naked picture. I don’t take those kinds of pictures and I’ll never send one even if I do. Grow up. You want to see a naked woman (other than your wives/girlfriends), they’ve got magazines and websites for that.
My Facebook is not a dating site. My children and family are on here. My closest friends are on here too. I also have friends, work colleagues, and fans here too. Don’t get me wrong. I am the SAME on Facebook as I am in person. My family and friends know who I am, they know I’m flirtatious, they know I’m a little batty, funny, have a serious side, can get confrontational on a dime, and passionate about everything I do. I don’t censor what I say or do online. I’ve learned to be very open and honest about who I am. But that’s not a license for YOU to be inappropriate with me or disrespect me.
If you’re interested in being my friend, in dating, in getting to know me better, then interact with me in public until we reach a point in our interaction to take things on a more private level. People, it’s just like if we met in person. Interact with me the same way you would if I were standing right in front of you. Just because you’re behind a computer screen doesn’t mean you skip right to the bedroom. Also, if you’re in a ‘situation’ where public interaction with me will cause ‘problems’… that’s YOUR problem, not mine. If you interact with me, expect it to be public until we enter into an actual relationship – then I will keep your privacy. I have several friends who are just private people, and I respect their privacy. That’s a different ballgame.
Think before you PM me. If you’re interested in me, get to know me. I’m an opened book. Have a little bit of understanding and respect. I just came out of a 20 year marriage. My heart has been shredded and I’m doing my best to put it back together. My life has been turned upside down, and I’m doing all I can to set it upright and move into a brighter direction. I’ve had some hit and misses on the dating front, but this whole dating thing is a new beast for me. Have patience as I find my way. But don’t misunderstand my situation. I’m not a desperate little girl seeking the attention and admiration from just anybody. I’m a beautiful, confident, independent, strong as hell grown woman, kicking life’s ass. I know what I want and don’t want, and I don’t compromise. I seek crowns, not gum unworthy to stick to the bottom of my shoes. I’ve tried to be nice and polite, but my middle finger has no problem hitting the ‘unfriend’ button.
Till next time,
~Frustrated with Perverts
